We are skidding towards the middle of the month and about to hit a couple of “milestones”. Both Quitters day and Blue Monday fall in the next week. So read on to find out how I have managed to shoehorn promoting myself as a Virtual Assistant – into what has become accepted as the most depressing time of the year.
Quitters day, coined by a Strava Survey is the date that most people will have abandoned their resolutions. This falls between the 14th to the 18th of January. All of the great intentions and plans for the year abandoned.
Blue Monday, said to fall on the third Monday in January, is supposedly the most depressing day of the year. Is it real? Or is it a a genius marketing idea that encouraged people to book their holidays?
A UK Travel Company suggested Blue Monday back in 2005 and looked at a number of different factors. The weather, Christmas spending regrets, failed resolutions and general low mood. Even if you think it was concocted to get people to part with cash, the concept has undoubtedly stuck. Which means lots of people do relate to it.
There isn’t a scientific study to back it up and many people reject Blue Monday. They see it as another marketing strategy. However, there is no doubt that for many, next week can feel like a slog. The return to work, the lack of seasonal chocolate, the end of the cheese board.
Here’s the great news.
With the right strategies and support (A Virtual Assistant), you can reclaim your momentum. You can survive the month. Set yourself up for success.
If you love January, congratulations, carry on. If you need some help and tips read on.
- Break down the big tasks. If it’s already feeling like 2025 is overwhelming, try to break things down into small actionable steps. For example, if your goal this year was to improve your fitness, put on your shoes. Get out for a walk. Just do it, something that nudges you towards your goal.
- Set realistic goals. Avoid the stress of feeling like a failure. Do a health check on your goals, have key priorities. Talk about your goals with someone you trust.
- Embrace the delegation. Tasks that you either don’t do, can’t do or shouldn’t do. Hand them over.
How can a Virtual Assistant Help With That?
A Virtual Assistant curing your January Blues would be a very bold claim. It is probably a lie. However, having too much to do contributes significantly to stress. There is often too little time to accomplish it all.
A Virtual Assistant can declutter your inbox, streamline your schedule. The list of tasks is endless and it depends on each individual as to what would free up your time.
So make this the year you will work smarter, not harder. Blue Monday might be a myth, but the struggles it represents are real. It’s time to take action. Let Help With That Virtual Assistant transform your time. Get you organised, motivated and on a path to success.
